HOW TO READ A HAIKU:
The japanese Haiku is a poem of three sentences: successively of five, seven and five syllables. In japanese and in english, that means just a few words but with silence pregnant of meanings between them.
The important idea is to let the readers have the feeling of : Time, Space and Being. In classical japanese haiku, Time usually means one of the four seasons. Space, the natural world. Being, human being but it could be a frog, a cicada, a dragonfly…and even a falling leaf or a blooming flower…
The silence between the words are to be filled by the reader: as in the english haiku above, we might figure out in our mind these lines between the words,
Up in the mountain
(There are just) flowers in the wilderness
(No way to find back) the trail (leading to the old house of our happiness).
In my kanzi haiku, the sentences are afforded to be: “seven, five and five syllables” or “five, five and seven syllables”. By the richness of kanzi, monosyllabic words, the silence, if any between the sentences, usually should imply some inherent meaning
