The lark’s broken flight

The lark song in its broken flight

At the rainbow end in the twilight

For the fallen lark, the land is mourning

And its body laid under many roses

Oh! how soon our spring has been lost

As our love that the leaves did’nt retain

Will you come back to the forgotten garden

To the remembrance with its burning silence?

I could not keep your love in my heart

Away from the turmoil of the world

I did not hold to your hands on my ways

Through the changing time of life inconsistence

The lark and the roses… bygone happiness

Under the mystery sun of the fleeting dream

Prière pour une alouette

Frêle et frêle le chant ténu dans son envol

Interrompu à l’horizon du crépuscule

Pauvre alouette qui meurt, le ciel est en deuil

Et les roses couvrent son corps de leurs pétales

Le printemps à peine annoncé est déjà mort

Tel l’amour que les fleurs d’automne ne retiennent

Dans le jardin abandonné où tout s’endort

Reviendras-tu pour le silence de ma peine?

Maintenir pour toujours le fragile bonheur

A l’abri des intempéries de la mouvance

Garder ton image dans mon rêve et mon coeur

Te demander pardon pour l’humaine inconstance

Je prie pour la grâce des tourments de la terre

Un éclair de la vie, en saisir le mystère
