Shakespeare’s legends

On the legend pages, we are to remember

To find back images of proud and noble knights

That of their loves, ladies who were so fair

They glowed bright as getting out of ribald nights

Glow from the far past to remind us the wonder

Man’s awakening to higher existence

In sacred brotherhood and in brave order

Over earthly drives, spirit’s ascendancy

Poets sang their nobility and their beauty

Prophecies-horizon in the look of their eyes

Through the wildness, their inroads into history

For values in human living they did strive

Their will and their love catch our hearts nowadays

For their praise, all the art-ways’re to display

“For we which now behold these present days

Have eyes to wonder but lack toungs to praise”

(the 13^th and 14^th lines)

The one which has these beginning lines:

“When in the Chronicle of waste time

I see discriptions of the fairest wights”

Bùi Giáng thường nhắc nhở người xưa chỉ làm thơ chứ không lý giải. Họ không độc đoán, giáo điều áp đảo. Người đời tiếp thu những câu thơ, thông diễn giải có thể lại chính bằng những bài thơ bay bổng. Vậy  đó, W.Shakespeare (1564-1616) có những tình ý, có thể là minh triết, viết ra thành thơ (154 bài sonnets), mà tôi mạn giải cấu mấy bài bằng những bài thơ “Shakespeare sonnets”.
